Nintendo Cutting Price of DS - (August 16, 2005)
Nintendo confirmed today that a report posted by cheapa**gamer.com claiming that the Nintendo DS would be lowered to $130 USD by August 21, 2005 is actually true. Nintendo told reporters that they are becoming more aggressive in the portable gaming market and cutting the price of the Nintendo DS just in time for two huge August games, Advance Wars: Dual Strike and Nintendogs, is a great way to do it.
Not word yet if the price of the Nintendo DS will drop outside of America, but for us lucky Americans, we just saved ourselves $20.

Voice Chat over Animal Crossing DS
While it's only a speculation, it seems very true. In the Nintendo Catalogue at the Games Convention in Germany, on the Animal Crossing page, a headset icon is present at the bottom of the page. Could this mean voice chat? We think so, and hey, why not, the DS has the Voice-Chat icon on the underside of it. We'll keep you informed! gba.n64europe

Mario Kart DS Summary
Puissance-Nintendo, a Nintendo site that attended the Leipzig Games Convention in person, recently received a chance to interview Kideki Konno, producer of Mario Kart DS.
- Online play will be simple to set up. A buddy list can be used to find your friends easily, and you may filter out players from certain countries and other criteria.
- Battle mode is not playable in WiFi mode.
- A new item will be in Mario Kart DS. This new item is called the octopus or squid. If used and thrown at a player, their entire top screen will be filled with ink and possibly hurting the player. The player can only see the bottom screen for a few seconds, so it is much harder to play.
